Chillicothe's Mayor (6081 bytes)
To all visitors:

Welcome to Chillicothe's Web site. Please allow me to introduce myself and our town. My nameHaney photo by Bailey Studio is Chuck Haney. I have resided in Chillicothe all but three years of my life and have worked as a newspaper publisher, radio and public relations for a variety of events, and formerly served for five years on the city council as councilman-at-large. My late wife, Rita, and I have two children, Kevin and Kathy, and five grandchildren and one step grandchild.

I was elected to mayor in early April, 2007. My uncle, Harry Pardonner served the city for two terms as mayor from 1927 to 1931. My mother Mildred Haney maiden’s name was Pardonner, but my mother or father were never involved in politics in regard to running for office nor was my wife or daughter Kathy or son Kevin.

I was pleased to have four of my grandchildren present to assist me in taking the oath of office from Clerk Frampton and to hold the Bible for me. Thanks to Courtnie Haney, who graduated in 2007 from Chillicothe High School; to Jackson Haney, a sixth grader at Bishop Hogan; Carly Carlton, a fourth grader at Bishop Hogan; and Kyrstyn Haney, who is 4 ½ for assisting in the ceremony. I might tell you that daughter Kathy and grandson Colin were on a school field trip the day I was sworn into office and were not able to be present.

Chillicothe is a well-seasoned city; and even though I am a new Mayor, I am committed to doing all I am able to keep our lifestyle and standard of living high and progressive. Here is truly the heart of America.

As mayor, I hope to continue economic development and to continue to watch Chillicothe grow. I'm very supportive of the ever-changing historic downtown area, and I really enjoy my job. With years of experience in the news field, as well as having worked many years with the business community, I feel I can relate to a wide demographic of citizens in regard to business and recreational issues throughout the city. My job is really a "people" business.

I hope you find these web pages informative and enjoyable. We have much to feel good about as citizens of Chillicothe, and we wish to convey some of that to those who have an interest in our community. So, look around our virtual town and drop us a line if you feel so inclined. Or, call us toll free at 1-888-756-0990.
