Chillicothe's Mayor (6081 bytes)
Haney photo by Bailey StudioTo all visitors:

Welcome to the city of Chillicothe's website. Please allow me to introduce myself and our town. My name is Chuck Haney.

I have resided in Chillicothe all but three years of my life and have worked as a newspaper publisher, radio and public relations for a variety of events, and formerly served for five years on the city council as councilman-at-large.

My late wife, Rita, and I have two children, Kevin and Kathy, and five grandchildren, one step grandchild, and one great grandchild.

I was elected to mayor in early April, 2007. My uncle, Harry Pardonner served the city for two terms as mayor from 1927 to 1931. My mother Mildred Haney maiden's name was Pardonner, but my mother or father were never involved in politics in regard to running for office nor was my wife or daughter Kathy or son Kevin.

I was pleased to have four of my grandchildren present to assist me in taking the oath of office for my second term from Clerk Frampton. Thanks to Courtnie Haney for holding the Bible for me. She is a 2007 graduate of Chillicothe High School; to Colin Carlton, a third grader at Bishop Hogan; Jackson Haney, a eighth grader at Bishop Hogan; my daughter, Kathy Carlton; my great-grandson Jaydin Haney and Carly Carlton, a sixth grader at Bishop Hogan. My granddaughter Kyrstyn Haney and step grandson Kyler Ireland were unable to be there the day of the swearing in.

Chillicothe is a well-seasoned city; and as Mayor, I am committed to doing all I am able to keep our lifestyle and standard of living high and progressive. Here is truly the heart of America.

As mayor, I hope to continue economic development and to continue to watch Chillicothe grow. I'm very supportive of the ever-changing historic downtown area, and I really enjoy my job. With years of experience in the news field, as well as having worked many years with the business community, I feel I can relate to a wide demographic of citizens in regard to business and recreational issues throughout the city. My job is really a "people" business.

I hope you find these web pages informative and enjoyable. We have much to feel good about as citizens of Chillicothe, and we wish to convey some of that to those who have an interest in our community. So, look around our virtual town and drop us a line if you feel so inclined. Or, call us toll free at 1-888-756-0990.

Thank you for visiting! Mayor Chuck Haney.
