Welcome to Shaffer Memorial Park in Chillicothe, Missouri |
|
June Shaffer Memorial Park is located in the
southeast section of the city. It is nearly eight (8) acres in size and was purchased in
1976. Construction began a short time later, creating a baseball facility that got a
sizeable facelift in 2002. The
facility also features one pavilion and a playground. With the renovation to the baseball diamond, Shaffer Park is the home of the Chillicothe Mudcats, a collegiate-aged summer baseball team that competes in the MINK League. The facility is also the location where the Chillicothe School District's Varsity and Junior Varsity Baseball teams host their games in the spring. American Legion baseball action comes to Shaffer Memorial Park in late summer and early fall. Stadium style seating is available close to the broadcast booth. These seats are used by season ticket holders during the Mudcat's season. General admission seats are also available, along with a full concession stand and generous parking areas all around the ballfield and park. |
