For the eighth time in the past 11 years, the Chillicothe Family Aquatic Center has been recognized as one of the safest municipal pools in the United States. Jeff Ellis & Associates, a risk management firm for aquatic facilities, awarded the Chillicothe Parks and Recreation Department with a Bronze Award for the 2006 season. Ellis & Associates conducts surprise audits and testing of nearly 1,800 municipal pools nationwide and based upon its criteria awards those facilities with outstanding operations. The facility is scheduled to open for the 2007 season on Monday, May 28.
