Mayor

WELCOME to the Cty of Chillicothe's website. I would like to introduce myself and our city. My name is Theresa Kelly. I was elected as Mayor of Chillicothe in April, 2019, after serving as the city's auditor for 24 years. I am a life-long resident of Chillicothe and cannot imagine living and raising my family anywhere else.

Chillicothe, nationally recognized as the "Home of Sliced Bread", serves as the county seat of Livingston County, Missouri, and is ideally located at Highway 65 and US 36. Though a city of less than 10,000 in population, Chillicothe offers the many amenities of BIG CITY life with a small-town atmosphere. We are fortunate to have great schools (including a highly rated Pre-K through eighth grade parochial school), restaurants, churches, as well as fine arts and social venues. We have a thriving economy; and our beautiful downtown comes alive with many murals depicting the history of this vibrant area.

Chillicothe's recreational opportunities are phenomenal - ChilliBay Water Park; Fast Lanes Bowling Center; Grand 6 Theatre; Grand River Historical Society Museum; YMCA; two golf courses, including a public course (Green Hills Golf Course); and seven parks, including Daryl Danner Memorial Park, a sports complex which has gained a reputation as one of the premier sports facilities in North Central Missouri. Chillicothe is also the home of the Chillicothe Mudcats collegiate.

Health care options are second to none in the Chillicothe area. Hedrick Medical Center, a 25-bed critical care facility, is a not-for-profit community hospital which provides a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient hospital services, outpatient specialty clinics, primary care services, and home care services. Hedrick Medical Center is a member of St. Luke's Health System and has been providing high-quality healthcare services to patients for over 125 years.

If it is Big City living in a small-town, friendly environment you want, Chillicothe has it all! Come visit us! I am confident you will want to come back soon!

Sincerely,
Mayor Theresa Kelly
