The Chillicothe Fire Department is currently recruiting for the position of Firefighter Paid-by-Call to establish an eligibility list to fill immediate and future vacancies.
Under supervision, the Firefighter Paid-by-Call will respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and other situations, both emergency and non-emergency, as required. The Firefighter Paid-by-Call will be expected to participate in fire department activities, including response to fires and EMS calls, various training activities, and other duties as assigned.
HOURS: The Firefighter Paid-by-Call will not have an assigned shift. The Firefighter Paid-by-Call will respond to calls as available dependent on their personal schedule.
APPLICANT EMS REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must possess a current State of MO driver’s license and will be encouraged to attend the EMT course to obtain an EMT license. Tuition assistance for the EMT course is available to qualified applicants.
APPLICANT FIRE REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must obtain within 1 year of hire date the State of MO. Firefighter I & II certification, HAZ-MAT Awareness & Operations certification. Tuition assistance for the Firefighter course is available to qualified applicants.
SALARY: The starting salary for the Paid-by-Cal/Firefighter position is $13.25 hour + $25.00 a month with a voluntary overtime option.
LIVING REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate must live within Livingston County.
EDUCATION: Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and be eligible to obtain a Sate of MO EMT License and Firefighter I & II Certification. Candidate must have a valid State of MO driver’s license and pass a background check.
