You'll find plenty to do in Chillicothe and the surrounding area! A flourishing and newly expanded YMCA, Green Hills golf course, an exciting Water Park, tennis courts, walking paths, and ball parks build the core for the recreational headquarters of northern Missouri.

Whether it's a stroll in Simpson Park under the shade of trees or playing in a 1-1 game in late innings of a game at Daryl Danner Memorial Park, flipping off the 3-meter diving board at the ChilliBay Water Park, or watching the Chillicothe Mudcats battle other MINK League teams, there is something for everyone in Chillicothe's nearly 100-acre park system.

Each of the seven facilities has a different flair and offers a variety of activities in all sections of the city. The constructions of a courtyard area of flowers, shrubs and trees in the downtown provides a stark contrast to the constant activity at the largest park facility - Danner Park. Simpson Park is the oldest city park facility and offers 35 acres of serene areas mixed within plenty of facilities for the active. Other park facilities include Shaffer Park, Clay Street Park, Gravesville Park, and Mills Park - all provide different opportunities for those citywide, and particularly those in their surrounding neighborhoods.

Chilli Bay season passes, Bayside rentals and park shelter house reservations may be made by visiting CivicRec or call our Parks Department at 660-646-4424.
