Full-time FIREFIGHTER/EMT or PARAMEDIC

The Chillicothe Fire Department is currently recruiting for the position of Full-Time Firefighter EMT or Firefighter Paramedic to establish an eligibility list to fill immediate and future vacancies.

Under supervision, the Firefighter EMT or Paramedic will respond to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and other situations, both emergency and non-emergency, as required. The Firefighter EMT or Paramedic will be expected to participate in daily fire station activities, including maintenance of the station, grounds, and equipment, various training activities, and other duties as assigned.

HOURS: The Firefighter EMT or Paramedic will be assigned to 24-hour shifts working a 51.7-hour weekly Berkley Schedule, with 6-7 Kelly day allotment annually, and 4 flex Kelly days annually. Only work 9.33 days/month, overtime available if desired.

APPLICANT EMS REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must possess a current State of MO. EMT or Paramedic License, NREMT EMT or Paramedic Certification (preferred). Must possess a current State of MO driver’s license. Tuition Assistance is available for the Paramedic Course up to $4,000 for qualified applicants.

APPLICANT FIRE REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must possess or obtain within 1 year of hire date the State of MO. Firefighter I & II certification, HAZ-MAT Awareness & Operations certification, paid for by the Department.

SALARY: The starting salaries are Firefighter/EMT $$49,036.42 and Firefighter/Paramedic $55,999.37. Overtime is available to off-duty personnel for every EMS/Fire call response. (Potential to earn $80,000+/year)

LIVING REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate must live in Livingston County or within any adjacent County to Livingston County (Caldwell, Carroll, Linn, Chariton, Grundy, Davies) within 6 months of hire date.
